On a stunning January afternoon in 2022 I got in my car and escaped to this oasis with the goal of capturing as many beaches as I could before the sun dipped too low in the sky. My first stop was this beautiful beach, which had to be trekked to be photographed. The 360 degree view and sea breeze was worth it.
I captured five perspectives that day, one of which I painted from the perspective of the knoll (middle distance) looking back toward the place I was standing in this painting; also called Ocean Beach.

Ocean Beach

This iconic beach, well known to locals, surfers, and hikers, is a stunning oasis. Many have climbed the dune to stand at this vantage point and admire the surroundings, and at times being wind blown to the point one's hair is horizontal. By including the knoll and open ocean, I hope to give a sense of the vast expanse of the area: a task I enjoyed trying to achieve.

A symphony in colour.
It's creation: A blend of quality paints were layered over a thick base paint. Cell activators were placed on top and blown across the surface, creating web-like cells. It was then spun to enlarge the design.
The beauty that results is like a fingerprint or snowflake. No two acrylic pours are ever the same.

Starstruck

The heart of a flower is sometimes the most interesting area of depth and form, and the Lily boasts maximum drama near its center. The filaments and velvet petals with beauty spots, were irresistible to paint.
